New Years Eve....
"Super Stoked" as they say here in Canada I worked the day shift and arrived to find the big boss in the store on a surprised visit. The place was filthy as always but i think he is used to this. The Dominoes in Whistler is "a headache" to him he said... i completely understand. The day shift went well, I made $26 tip and left the credit card tips for the rush shift workers as Rod requested. Every single member of Dominoes was working that night and it was a good atmosphere with us all singing "Ding Ding The Fries are Done...". I'm yet to look it up on U tube! (we dont sell fries at Dominoes incase you are wondering!) Me, Tony and Chris were clock watching from 6.00pm onwards waiting to be "released" into the wild ha ha! I was first to go at 7.00pm! Whoooooooooooo! Off home for bolognaise, vodka and cider! Mike and I had a shower finished our dinner, put on our Wizards hats from Thailand and headed over to Chris and Tony's. They were still at Dominoes so we put on a few tunes and had a chat with all the different walks of life that were at their house. Thats what i love about Whistler, there are so many interesting people to talk to from all over the world - facinating conversations and views on life. We got speaking to Elle and Victoria who are awesome girls and i was looking forward to having a good night with them. I went and had a chat with Tony and he showed me his new Tie Die wall art which was pretty cool. Tony is one of the most AWESOME lads i have ever met, so upbeat, positive, happy, go lucky guy I love him to bits and hope we keep in touch when we leave Whistler. Mike's only met him a few times but completely agrees! Anyway moving on...Suddenly Alex got a text to say the party had been shut down by the police. We were all devestated but when we arrived it was back on. They had put on a coach that went back and forth from the whistler carpark to the Secret Venue all night. When we arrived the coaches looked like they had burnt out as there was smoke and alot of drunken people walking around. We decided to continue with the taxi to the venue which the guys new where it was. When we got there the police stopped us and wanted to take our beer away from us. We refused to give them away and said we would go home drink it and come back. Mike and I walked along the quiet road in pitch black and drank some of our vodka. We managed to smuggle the vodka and rum into the venue down Mikes Pants but had to leave Chris's beers hanging on a tree. When we arrived we found Chris, Tony, Vic and Elle in the first rave tent and started dancing and jumping around like kids. The drink then started to kick in and i was WASTED... Mike and Vic took me outside just to steady me a little and get a bit of fresh air and then back into the tent for a full few hours rave. I sorted myself out a bit then it was Mikes turn to get wasted! He wasnt too bad we were all just buzzing off the music, the people etc! Me, Vic, Mike, Chris and Tony then went and chilled outside for a bit and confessed our drunken love for one another, cant remember any of the convesation really but i think that was pretty much the jist. We warmed ourselves up by the roaring bonfire then back into the tent for a full couple of hours rave again! Elle didnt even make it past the first hour. Bless she had to leave as she was too drunk!. She seems like a top girl and i'm looking forward to having a night out with her soon. We left around 5.00am and the coach took us to creekside which was nice. I gave the driver $20 to thank him for taking us to the next town from Mike and I. All in all a great New Years Eve and one to remember..
The next Day...
Woke up feeling okay. Thats not to say i didnt feel in a dream like state! Mike and I hugged and kissed and laughed about the antics of the night before. We'd had a good night together partying. Vic was with us all night too and we really enjoyed her company. I had to work that night - New Years Day Night. Mike started drinking cider and rum as his hair of the dog remedy in the day which perked him up a bit. I fell asleep on the couch and he decided to dig the van out of the huge steep snow which it had been collecting for a few weeks. I went to work and it was horrible. I felt so hungover and dazed through lack of sleep. I had to work til 4.00am! Pants! It was dead busy too! I went to bed that night and that was the end of New Year 2010/2011!
Wednesday 5th Jan
So.... still in my dream like state and wondering when i'm going to snap out of it... bit worried actually that i'm going to feel like this forever! I certainly hope not! Had a good 2 days off with Mike - Monday and Tuesday are our Saturday and Sunday. We gave this week a miss from drinking and just chilled out. We went up the mountain both days but i just feel weired and super relaxed. .God i hope i feel back to normal soon. Its like i'm jet lagged thats the how i feel. I'm getting way too much sleep over here too. Averaging 11 hours a night. I feel so tired in the morning! Ah well! We had a good two days together. We had a meal at the Spagetti factory last night and went to watch "The Fighter"at the cinema which was a true story about a boxer called Dicky and Micky who were brothers from a rough family it was really good. The Spagetti Factory is average food but such good value for money. With any main you get - sourbread with garlic butter, ice cream, soup and tea or coffee for free! Excellent! Mains start at $8.95 great value but pretty plain main courses. I'm working a day shift today for Tony. I was just going to slob in the apartment all day if I didnt so i volunteered to take his shift off him. He's hurt his shoulder bless and needs to rest it. So we are going to do a big shop in the neighbouring town called Squamish tonight as Mike has the work car. I think we are going to stock up on fruit and veg and get our bodies back in healthy order.
