Opened a bank account at Royal Bank of Scotland. They charge you for everything over here. They charge you to receive calls and messages. They charge you each month to have a bank account depending on how much you use it! The lowest charge is $4 a month - however that will only let you do 15 transactions in that month! We have just bought a fishing rod and are going to try and catch some Salmon in Campbell River which is known as the salmon capital of the world. No idea what we are going to kill the poor fish with! Probabley a rock eeek! Sorry Gem/AJ/Pat!
So we fished for Salmon most of the day and did not catch anything. Everyone around us did though - the woman next to us was giving us pointers and she offered us one of her many salmon she cought however we declined as we are determined to catch and eat our own. I watched the kids bash the poor fish round the head twice to kill it and another woman break its neck and pour the blood out. Tht en this guy showed me how to gut the fish and it was disgusting! Not looking forward to doing that! We snook into a local campground today and guessed the code of the door to get in the showers. It was $1 for 5 minutes. If we were to choose to stay at a campground it is $30 a night for a non hook up! So glad we are not doing that! The shower was a nice change from the freezing cold rivers and glacier lakes where we have been to however i had to hide in the mens cubicle whilst Men were around which was a bit scary! We are now going fishing again to try and catch our lunch. We have been offered interviews for 2 places in Tofino but we have decided not to go back. It is in the middle of no-where 5 hours away and not really what we expected. We will head north to Victoria next a city on Vancouver Island. We are also going to the Hornby Festival on a little island where we need to get 2 x ferry's too from Vancouver Island. It is supposed to be a little hippy old school island cant wait!
