Fab day in Tokyo, really loving the contrasts of this city. We used the subway to get to Tokyo Tower, which you will see is modelled on the Eiffel Tower. We went up 250m to the observatory which gave great views and us an appreciation of how big Tokyo is. We then walked across to the Zozoji Temple which was very busy as today was one of only three days a year when the black image of Amida Buddha is shown to the public. We then headed to the busy shopping district of Ginza. We then went to see the government buildings of the Prime Ministers residence and the Diet Building before The Imperial Palace which the Emperor still lives in. The city is amazing with temples and park areas amongst the soaring skyscrapers. It is not chaotic and claustrophobic as I had anticipated.
