Right so time for blog number 2!!
so new year was amazing we were both super tired after being at milsons point since 4 and forgetting that no matter how warm it is when the sun goes down with the harbour breeze you freeze!!! A lesson learnt is all I will say! However the fireworks more than made up for it - they were absolutely spectacular and us pair of fools even welled up!!!
Then after new year went on a day trip to bondi spent the day on the beach looking for hoppo from bondi rescue! Our map reading skills are top notch we have walked like troopers and haven't got lost once!!!
So room hunting ... First trip was out to maroubra to a house with three small children and a mother who didn't seem to wear shoes!! Not to mention a couple of Israelis and a few Irish! So the cleanliness of the house wasn't up to my standards never mind Hooi's OCD!!! First option nag oes!!!!
Second place looked a little rustic to say the least but we realised we had to try and put a traveller hat on and embrace where we were!! However when we got off the train at redfern and found who we think was Pablo the hippy with waist length dreads half dressed along with three what I can only describe as heroin chic minus the chic drunks we decided to bail as we definitely aren't edgy enough for redfern and can cope with that just fine!
Then we ring Sean .. He had two places one in glebe and one in coogee, the glebe one was available sooner so we said we'd see that the day after and thought we should learn from our redfern mistakes and check the area out, so off we trek once more! Glebe was nice enough a little rustic but we realised not right for our time in Sydney so we end up viewing coogee instead! And Sean saved the day! It seems to be perfect so a few extra days in northshore and then we are in when lori arrives! So now we can relax and settle into Sydney life as we are unsure what can happen with our east coast adventure what with all the Queensland flooding but at least we have a room!!!
