Hello everyone!
I decided I should probably update you with some recent English news! As you probably know, I do not have much time left in England. Although I ame xcited to come home and see my family and friends, I am definitely not ready to leave England, or Europe in general, and the awesome people that I have met since I have been here. But it all came too fast, so for the next few weeks, I am avoiding the realization that soon, I will be in the U.S.
As time here comes to an end, things have really gotten busy! I have to write 4 essays by the time I leave to go home, which at the moment are kicking my butt. But other than that, I have been hanging around Hull, doing the random day trips to other little English cities. This past Monday, Caitlin and I went to York for the afternoon. Once we got there, we were welcomed by the huge city walls which dated back thousands of years. The city was one of the most English-looking cities I have seen, and was very cute! There was a celebration going on for the queen's birthday, so the military band was playing on her behalf. We spent only a few hours in York, as it is small and does not have extreme amounts to do. We walked around and saw the Shambles, which is a street full of little shops, including a delicious fudge shop. There is also a very small castle and a cathedral that somewhat resembles Notre Dame. But York was fun, and we definitely loved seeing such an English town.
Otherwise I have not been doing a lot this week except working on papers. I have been hanging out a lot with my roommates and we have had a lot of late late nights. Saturday, we are going to the Hull City soccer game and I am very excited for that...should be a lot of fun! But anyways, that about wraps up life from this week...talk to you all soon!
ciao!
