So, I kind of forgot to tell anyone about what I am actually here for. I DO, actually, go to school here. I am in three classes and I do actually go to class, believe it or not. I am taking a social work process and practice on Tuesday mornings. It is pretty much just a class about everything going into the whole idea of being a social worker. Yes, I know that I am not going to be a social worker, but I do need social science credits, so it will work for that. My lecturer is really nice. He knows all about us and we talk to him after every lecture (you know they always say make friends with the teach). Everyone is pretty up to date with what is going on in America as well. He will remind us of what is going on and ask us questions about our elections and such. Everyone also really likes Barack and Hillary. There were signs this past weekend in Dublin that said "Will America ever change?" and has pictures of those two. We have three seminars throughout the semester, and I actually just got out of one of them. It is your class broken into smaller discussion groups and you are given a family situation and have to think in the mind of a social worker of the approach you would take to help the family. It is really pretty fun and makes you think outside of the box. I am also in a mental health class, which meets Wednesdays and I have only had it once so I am not sure what all it will be about but it seems interesting. And my other class is the History of Popular Music on Tuesdays as well that will transfer back as a humanities credit. It seems like it'll be an okay class. Kind of boring and not really my top favorite class but it is not too bad. It is a pretty small class, and the lecturer knows us in that class too, so it is nice because he is pretty lenient with us and expects us to not really get it.
But anyways, things in Hull are going really well. Although we aren't here much in the week, we make sure we enjoy our time here while we are here. Last week two of our friends had birthdays, so we threw them a birthday party. It was pretty fun and a lot of people actually came so we kind of threw a good party I supposeOtherwise, nothing a whole lot new has happened. Every Tuesday night we rent out Planet Coffee, a coffee shop near our flats, and we watch movies. It is pretty nice being able to watch a movie and its free if more than 15 people come so anything free is definitely worth it! Today I woke up to snow. It snowed last night and this morning but I think it done for the most part. I hope so anyway! But anyways, there are better blogs to write, like the one of Dublin and such. But I had a request telling me to talk about classes and the "real" reason I am here, such as classes, and England so here you go
