Today is my day off and me and Rach have decided to just take it easy this morning, we got up late and went to late breakfast and we're going to go out for lunch at about 12pm before going to the mall. I thought I might as well take the opportunity to use the computers while they're empty in the morning!
Yesterday we went on a trip with our kids to Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey, it was beautiful and apart from the gorgeous weather I felt like I was still in England with all the little sailing boats and cottage type houses by the water. We went out on a boat in a group of about 10, there were 8 kids and then me and Justin as the counselors. We each took turns in pairs to go on a float that was attached to the back of the boat by rope, it was basically a dingy haha, the kids were all pulled along pretty slow but I (stupidly) agreed to go on it with Justin who kept telling them to speed up, we were flipped over twice and it's a shock when you hit the water! I had a life jacket on of course but he still had to help me back to the boat luckily he is a lifeguard haha, afterwards we went swimming in the lake for a bit then when we got back to the dock we had a game of uno and sat watching the kids throw seaweed at each other, it kept them entertained for almost an hour! The bus journey was an hour and a half so it was pretty tiring with it being so hot but it was worth it because it was such a great day.
Last night quite a few of us went to the mall to try and get tickets for batman, but unsurprisingly it was sold out! Then we wanted to see mamma mia but it finished 10 minutes too late to get the bus back to camp so we left that and just got an earlier bus back, I appreciated the early night anyway. It feels strange to be walking around camp but not actually being on duty, it's a nice change though and much less tiring! Anyway the kids will be leaving the bunk again by now (I'm timing my day around when they won't be there haha) so I'm going to go shower. Speak soon, take care.
