Day 20- We have a free buffet breakfast included with our room here so had a huge selection of hot and cold food for breakfast at TGIFs, having big breakfasts sets us up perfectly for the day. Walked to the Benjamin Franklin institute to check out the Titanic exhibition and decided to visit tommorow before we leave. Walked down past city hall to the visitors centre in the old part of town. Passed a Ross store so had to pop in a got a few bits and peices. Went to the liberty bell centre where we read about the history of slavery and how Philadelphia was the first place to abolish slavery. The contradiction between the Declaration of Independence and subsequent actions of the presidency and slavery was thought provoking. Went for a guided tour through the Independence hall where the declaration was signed by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin among others. Really cool to be in the original house which is fiercely guarded and preserved. Went and had a coffee then walked back towards the hotel. The kids went to our hotel and Mike and I had a couple of beers at an Irish pub next door. Picked up some subway for tea and spent a cold night in watching a movie. It's certainly a slower pace compared to New York, not a huge amount of people around. Very picturesque city and streets are very clean. Lots of history being the birthplace of America.
