Day 22- Woke up early to a nice clear cold morning. Mike went for an early morning 8km run to the Lincoln memorial , came home raving about it. Had big breakfast and set off on foot to see the sights. It's 8 degrees so one less layer needed. Walked straight down the national mall to the Washington monument before stopping at the World War Two memorial. Then walked along the side of the reflecting pool towards the Lincoln memorial. Day 20- We have a free buffet breakfast included with our room here so had a huge selection of hot and cold food for breakfast at TGIFs, having big breakfasts sets us up perfectly for the day. Walked to the Benjamin Franklin institute to check out the Titanic exhibition and decided to visit tommorow before we leave. Walked down past city hall to the visitors centre in the old part of town. Day 19 -Woke up for a 7am breke at tick tick diner. We are sad to be leaving New York knowing there's still do much to see and do but very happy with what we've done. We like the New Yorkers who are blunt but genuine and friendly. There are surprises around every corner and it has a powerful, commanding aura about it. Day 18- Stayed up late to see the New Year in so got up later and had breakfast at tick tock diner. Got straight onto the 34th street subway to go to Central Park. The kids are excellent at getting us on the right lines! They are very savvy round the city. Had a wicked few hours at Central Park.
