Song of the Day: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - Michael Buble
Mumisode of the Day: It was Mum's birthday today and so we have decided to let her off. All embarrassing/funny things have been remembered but not recorded.
Breakfast was delivered to the apartment at 8:30 am complete with bread rolls and croissants. Gemma and Amber who love croissants and who were looking forward to the French version once more were sorely disappointed to discover that these pastries tasted like raw egg. Leaving these until last had definitely been a gigantic error.
Dad took us on a walking tour of the old town of Geneva. From the old town we walked to a beautiful park beside Lake Geneva that is famous for its floral clock. Every season the flowers are changed, but the clock continues to tick. There is a fantastic view of the fountain from here. The fountain in the lake pumps 500 litres of water per second to an altitude of 140 metres. At any given moment there are 7000 litres of water in the air. Amber pointed out that we needed to be careful as if the wind changed, we might get very wet!
The afternoon was spent wandering the shops of Geneva, particularly focusing on the many watch shops. Gemma found a watch that she really loved but unfortunately a link needed to be ordered from a different shop and this couldn't be done within the week.
Mum's birthday dinner was had in a Thai restaurant. We only ordered a main here though as a serving of spring rolls would set you back 21 francs. It is unbelievable! Amber and Gemma had made a sneaky purchase of a cake so we enjoyed hot chocolate and birthday cake for dessert. Mum has now joined the club of having a birthday overseas. Amber, David and Gemma were already in this club. Dad is yet to join!
