The day after we did our exciting Jesus Statue trip, we drove a long car ride to Popoyo, Nicaragua . That morning, we met our driver in front of the condo complex we were staying in. We were to take a two hour car ride to Popoyo. We took a private shuttle to Popoyo, which was much better than the public bus, in my opinion. It was nice to look out of the car window and see beautiful grassy fields as we rode those two hours. When we started getting nearer to our house in Popoyo, we realized that Popoyo really does not have much at all. We needed groceries, so our driver brought us to the grocery store, but apparently the grocery store is closed on Sundays. So, our driver drove us to the other grocery store. I would not call it a grocery "store", I would call it a grocery shack or hut. The little grocery hut the driver took us to, was basically a little hut thing with four walls and a roof. There was a window in it where you would ask her for whatever you want from the little shop, then pay. I thought the store lady would only have chips, crackers, cookies, and candy, but she really had bottles of water, milk, eggs, flour, rice, e.t.c. At the food hut, we kids got some candy, nummy nummy! When we finished buying all our food, we got back in the car and our driver drove us to our house.
