So after splitting the group as the others wanted to stay in Rotoroua. Sam Harry Slates and I moved on towards Taupo. on the way we stopped off at a sheep show. here we were shown casual racism at its best with the entertainer picking on the Korean woman who could not speak english. it was very funny and we joined in the raucous laughter along with every other caucasion spectator........... we were then allowed pictures with all the sheep and once again we took things to a new low when slates decided to strip off and pretend to bum the sheep. the surrounding observers looked on bemused while we laughed on hysterically. to recover from this viewing Harry jumped off a platform connected only by some rope. we had a pit stop at Waikato where we rested and feasted. We arrived in Taupo excited by the prospect of a sky dive. we let our nerves relax by drinking some CRUNK juice. Crunk juice is an art and needs to be perfected! it contains a perfect mix of alcohol and mixer to produce a drink that is not only enjoyable but highly intoxicating. it did the trick as we managed to get thrown out the club for stripping naked, buying a row of 20 jaegerbombs and facebooking enemies telling them of their iminent death... the next day we acheived nothing due to our state. we lost to the danish in a football match. however we were graced by some footballing quality not seen since maradona in 86 when i did an overhead kick to stop a certain goal... slates also couldnt open his eyes for two hours which was hilarious. to recover from our disgusting condition me and slates ran a mile to a beach on lake taupo and swam for a bit before getting back to the room and me slates and sam showering together, in a completely straight way. harry was M.I.A at this point. the rest of the day dragged on. yesterday brought the sky dive. literally the most amazing experience! i was s***ting it but the second we left the plane was incredible, we were buzzing for about 3 hours afterwards! the video is hilarious as our expressions throughout the flight change from excitement to absolute fear as we get to the edge of the door to jump out! we pulled out as many poses as possible, going for the usain bolt, superman and humping actions. another night of crunk juice followed but this time our bodies had adjusted and we woke up feeling fiiiiiine. today we went to some natural hot water springs with a mini waterfall which was quality.
Did the Tongariro Crossing today which was incredible. we climbed to the top of MOUNT DOOM (not the actual name) which is in Lord of the rings and you can see each coast of NZ. it was highly nackering though, 8 hour walk!!!
The next day we rented a boat out on Lake Taupo. luckily for us the weather decided to clear and the water stayed flay. it was a really nice and chilled day. Sam managed to monoski and hold onto the line with his spare foot, absolutely incredible. we all had a go at wakeboarding and tubing and had a really good time!
On our way to River Valley the next day we stopped off at the Huka Falls in the national park and did a two hour trek. the trek itself was quite monotonous but the waterfalls were quite cool. we took some interesting photos and sam and slater skinny dipped to the delight of the vast chinese contingent!
River Valley brought us St Patricks Day. we had an awesome night singing songs and drinking guinness and slept contently having stripped naked for the 21st birthday of a danish girl :)
White Water rafting in the morning. really good fun. Slater missed out unfortuantly through funds but the rest of us got bashed about in the rapids, made stupid faces and jumped of rocks. Harry completed his Gap Year aim by finally doing a backflip off one of the rocks.
In wellington atm for the night and going to Nelson tomorrow where we are going on an overnight canoe trip through the abel tasmin national park. it is meant to be incredible and we will finally have reached the south island! we cannot wait
