Well got off the OzExperience bus in what can only be described as a shanty town, very strange and surreal. Little place call Spot X at Coffs Harbour, little surfers village. This was one of the mandatory stops on the bus trip and for staying there we were given a free surf lesson. I never wanted to leave this place ever, after having a little walk along the secluded isolated beach with everyone on the bus we dandered back for some food and festivities. By festivities i mean SLAP THE GOON!!!!

Very good night at spot x for them having nothing, the evening involved drinking with the folk i knew then randomly sitting at a table with group of others who were playing drinking games which looked like fun so i thought i would help with the games. Dont really remember the game all i remember is being drunk falling off a chair. The the strip limbo started, even the word limbo should send alarm bells throughout your whole body, however you add the word strip infront you should be running a mile. This is the problem with goon everything sounds so much better when you have a gut full of the stuff. So yea lets have a game of strip limbo, was doing so well and then i had to bow out. Then it was time to hush down a little and head down to the beach for yet more drinking and having a good laugh. A group of about twenty of us headed down for good laugh which it was although think most of us forgot about the surfing the next day.

So the surfing the next morning, was interesting to say the least, not many people were up for doing it but we all trundled along in ernest just to say that it was done. What a hangover cure, this should be law when hungover you should go surfing sobers you up almost instantly.

Now we are back on the bus heading to Byron for 5 days. Touchdown. The hostel in my opinion looked a little holiday camp ish almost butlins chalets sort of way. However for location this place could not be beaten, about 30 seconds across the old abandoned railway line and you are there on the beach so beautful, since it isnt the main beach in Byron Bay you feel like it is a little more exclusive as there is hardly anyone on this part of the beach. I learned a valuable lesson here in Byron bay, SUNCREAM IS AN ESSENTIAL otherwise blisters will appear, and trust me they are not pleasant. Oh well soldiering on then. Did an amazing walk up to the lighthouse where the views were stunning, went during the afternoon whereas i think going in the evening would have been better but still was amazing to have an unblemished view right across the ocean and sweeping views round to the beach, i want a house on the hills here, wouldnt get tired waking up to these views.

Nimbin is a little slice of Amsterdam in Australia socially accepted weed usage is essential. Very strange plac that you do not want to break down in especially on a sunday when the market was on as this is when you see a lot of very very very strange people that you start to wonder if the can actually see what everyone else can see. The waterfall and lagoon just around the corner however was absolutley breathtaking was good to have a little swim and walk around the surrounding area.

So Byron bay is definately the place to be if you enjoy lying baking on a beach, a hammock or by a swimming pool this place is definately a place to not have a care in the world and just forget about the proper outside world.

p.s. if anyone reading this visits Byron Bay you must make sure to visit cheeky monkeys club for some amazing cheap food, dancing all night on the table tops and trying to get the mc to make sure you are the one to get free jugs of beer it is an awesome place to go out for good laugh meet some awesome people and generally have the greatest time ever. Rails is also a good bar to go to for some good music and some of the local drinks
