Day 56
Michael's iPhone was totally black, dead this morning, aaaccckk!!
We were going to Anchorage for a day trip, anyway, so we looked up Apple Store in Anchorage, and luckily they have one.
It is 45 degrees and cloudy / rainy outside. Our drive took us along the Knik River, then onto Glen Highway a divided highway with 4 lanes. Boy that looks weird, haven't been on a big highway in awhile.
The Apple Store was in a huge, 3 story mall, haven't seen one of those in ages either. The guy immediately helped us by holding down the on/off button and the menu button simultaneously. Viola, it came on! We had a wonderful time in that store, our salesperson answered a lot of our questions. We SO want an iMac, sometime in the near future, if we have any money left after this trip. Anyway, a visit to the Apple Store is always a treat, since the closest one to us at home is in Raleigh, 4 hours away. Michael bought a new iPhone case and we were on our way to the Anchorage City Market. It was a pretty nice market, lots of arts and crafts, a few fresh vegetables, etc., even an Elvis impersonator performing onstage, haha!
Next we went to Costco to get their delicious Sunrise Energy Bars, our favorite energy bar.
REI was next, oh yeah, baby, we are in a big city, getting our shopping fix. This REI was huge, 2 stories and they were having a sale. Love that place, Michael bought some hiking pants and I got a Buff. Sweet, now I'll have warm ears under my rain hat.
It is college football day, so we found a great sports bar, (McGinley's Irish Pub) for a meal and to catch up on some of the scores and to watch Georgia vs. Clemson. It was a fun game to watch even though I wanted Georgia to win, oh well, great beginning to another season of college football.
