Today was another unconventional day. We had breakfast early again, but me and the other person in my group were both busy doing aviary, so didn't get round to doing our cleaning rounds. Well today has been pretty crazy!! I've hardly been at the rehab itself. I did morning rounds as usual, then after breakfast went horse riding. We did the beginner class as one person had never ridden before, but it was still fun to ride through the mountains, we rode past impala, warthogs and baboons. Today was pretty much the same as all the rest. Had to get up early for aviary, but it was bliss as I was able to drop the 3am feed for Lula the squirrel so got to sleep for a whole 6 hours! Today we had a baby bushbuck come into the rehab. It had been abandoned by it's mother, and a member of the public and found it and tried to help it. But we think they probably overfed her. Hi! So I'm really really behind with the whole blog thing, but after 4 weeks of being here I've discovered there is free wifi where I eat breakfast and dinner (yes I am very stupid). Had to clean aviary kitchen again this week after the manager, Brian, said I did such a good job last week...damn I should have done a worse job! Oh well, only one more Friday left after today! We released the last hand reared barn owl, Aurelius, out into the larger enclosure today, along with the last 2 wild barn owls. Only 2 owls left inside now, the babies Simon & Garfunkel.
