Hi everyone! We have left London after four days where we stayed in Canary Wharf which is near Greenwich in London. It was the most amazing four days!!! On the first day we went to Hampton Court Palace, which is the home of the Tudor family. We saw King Henry VIII's apartments and the rooms where he ate and danced with all six of his wives!! It was freezing cold and the stone walls of the palace made it even colder! They had actors walking around the palace as King Henry and Anne Boleyn and the guards. They refused to break character ever! That night we went to see a west end show - Jersey Boys at the Prince Edward theatre near Leicester Square. It was INCREDIBLE. All the performers were so talented and the music was great. The theatre was also really old and beautiful with red velvet curtains and ornate designs on the ceiling. The lead role of Frankie Valli was played by one of the guys from S Club 7! So that was kind of weird.
Wednesday Was shopping on Oxford Street. With the biggest Topshop I have ever seen! It was amazing! I spent so much time looking at all the clothes and around the massive store that I didn't have time to actually try anything on! Oxford Street was so fun to walk around with all the big shops and the double decker buses driving past. I think I could've spent another two days just on that street. We then met my dad and sister to see the Tower of London, where royal prisoners taken and executions performed. For a tower with a bloody history it is very beautiful. We visited the 'Bloody Tower' where the two young princes, Edward and Richard were rumoured to be kept and murdered. We also visited the Tower Chapel which is still used for services and where many prisoners have been buried - including Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, two of King Henry's wives.
For our final day in London we visited Covent Garden and Portabello Road while my sisters went to see Frankenstein at the National Theatre. It had some famous english actor guy in it that my sister went nuts over - they waited at the stage door after to meet him, screaming like little girls. we took a ride on the London eye then hopped on a boat ride down the Thames to see Big Ben and houses of Parliament to get back home to Canary Wharf.
Next we are heading to Plymouth for the big family reunion! Cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents coming from Australia, England, Canada and Hong Kong to celebrate a 70th Birthday. At last count I think I had about 50 2nd cousins!
I'll update you on that soon! Missing everyone.
