Not a 3rd world country
Ok, so I decided after my trip home to Florida, to ride as a passenger in the car and take pictures of every American commercialized thing I could find. I created an album. Apparently everyone thinks I live in a third world country with no running water or ammenities.
Costa Rica is also not all beaches and coconuts. It is also not an island. It is in Central America. I live in the city, which is a higher altitude, so there goes my tropical tan year round.
I live in the central city of San Jose within walking distance from the fine dining choices of McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Subway, Bagelmann's, Quizno's, etc. There is a DHL, GNC, sushi places, grocery stores, malls, and pretty much anything American you can think of. Why anyone would say I live in a third world country I don't know, I am attending medical school here. That should send out the first red flags. There are a lot of universities and hospitals here.
As with any country or place there are rough spots and underdeveloped areas. But for the most part, I would say having a Benz dealership, TGIFridays, Hooters, Tony Roma's, and a Zara make it pretty far from 3rd world.
