Graeme round the world
Day 29 April 22nd Up at 5.30am for another cold shower and the 4 hour boat and bus ride back to the airport. It was sunny and so relaxing to be on the boat and soaking up the Amazon atmosphere, saw some capabyas, which are the largest rodents in the world and very cute. Fly to Cusco and then to Lima. Have to say good bye to Joe and Steph and Terry the Vim Diesel of guides and then on the night bus for 7 hours with Jill to Nasca lines. You know it's a good bus service when all the passengers have to be fingerprinted and videoed before they get on the bus, due to all the hold ups they have on them!!!! It is the most dangerous road in Peru and the way the bus driver drove it isn't surprising, great fun though :o) Arrived in Nasca desert just before midnight and checked into a decidedly dodgy hotel backing onto a slum, with the main road blocked off with rocks.............the bed was flea ridden and had a mattress about 20 years old, but I was so tired it didn't matter an had a good sleep until 7.30am
