Graeme round the world
Day 8 01/04/06 Full days trip to a market 2 hours outside Quito, on the way met my first lama and went to another equator line site and balanced an egg on it's end which you can do more easily on the equator line. The market was fantastic with all the clothes and food being so different. This is a huge market and somehow managed to bump into my South African friends. Met some of the people who will be coming on the same boat on my tour and they are great fun, we did egg juggling and egg catching trying to see how far you can get apart before it breaks all over you.......needless to say we smashed all the eggs. Eat loads of local food and drink inc fresh water snails, which were yummy. The good news is our boat is designed for 16 guests but there are only 7 of us so I don't have to share a cabin and the other 6 seem like great fun and we are all going out for a $2 curry tonight, which will be my first meal not alone, so really looking forward to that. The excitement it really starting to build with tales from the Inca trail and Galapagos from people returning from their trips - It all sounds amazing :o)
