Graeme round the world
Day 6 30/03/06 Up at 4am to catch first flight of 4 today!!
**
During the flights I was thinking about a couple of things that happened in Rio. A local gave me some great advice as we landed at Rio ''Try not to look like a foriegner'' it's hard to blend in when you're the only one carry a ruck sack and your skin hasn't seen sun for neatrly a year.
Don't always trust advice from locals if they are trying to sell you something, one my first day I trusted what they told me about the exchange rate in Rials and ended up paying what I thought was much money in Rials but actually cost $60 for my shoes cleaned and $25 for a beach cocktail. The Gringo wised up after that...........I'll put it down to jet lag, but made me laugh anyway.

Rio to Sao Paulo 1hour 10mins,
Sao Paulo to Santiago in Chile 4 hours 10 mins, *Just in between flights in Santiago, saw some stunning snow covered mountinins as we landed and not sure whther I should be worried or not, but two military aricraft are doing flypasts of the control tower and loop the loops....maybe they've just watched Top Gun for the first time!*
Santiago to Guayaquil in Ecuador 5 hours 5 mins
and then finally Guayaquil to Quito in Ecuador 50 mins.
I will be staying in Quito for 2/3 nights before flying out to the boat in the Galapogos. I'll update when I can :o)
