Graeme round the world
Day 11 Tues 04/04/06
Sailed to Espanola over night and again very rough but getting used to it now and slept much better. This is the southernmost Island and probably the most beautiful. We saw masked and blue footed boobies, which are the famous local birds which just stand their when you go next to them and named after the Spanish name for stupid. Saw a Albatros, at what the locals call Albatros airport, where they all take off. Sailed to Garner Bay in the afternoon which was the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. The sea lions were so relaxed I got a picture laying next to them and the sea was pure turquoise. Snorkled and saw a school of sand rays a shark in a cave, a purple octopus and then when swimming back to the boat two big white tipped or Galapagos shark, it was so scary as it was about 25m deep and crystal clear when it swam underneath us and then off into the shadows, we followed it but saw it agin or another one closer to the boat. I took some pics of all the stuff underwater, so hope in my panic I pressed the right buttons and they come out ok. Everyone got drunk and gave the crew an impromtu salsa/croc show, which isn't easy when the boat is swaying about :o)
