We have been in Melbourne for four nights now, and the weather is glorious, much to our great delight!!!  We seem to have booked to come here at the worst time possible as the AFL final (the biggest sporting event of the Aussie calendar) took place this weekend, right in the middle of our visit! Visited the Old Melbourne Gaol which was incredibly depressing, the Melbourne Zoo (great fun, Sarah's favourite animals were the wombat and the monkeys and Claires were the penguins and the platypus!) and naturellement we have done the old ramsay street tour to the set of Neighbours.  No stars were found on our tour but it was really weird going to the street where they film the show. 

We have even managed to find time to squeeze in a bit of shopping in the cool boutiques in the city arcades and Claire did the Penguins tour to Phillip Island whilst Sarah hitched a ride with Dobbin and his mate along the Great Ocean Road which was stunning.  Off to Sydney tomorrow, Dobbin is tagging along for more road trip adventures and Vanessa and Carole will be arriving on Friday.
