Goughie and Gater: le tour!!
We are now on the shores of Lake Titiacaca in Bolivia, with a fabulous view of the lake from our hotel room (which only costs $4 per night, although i believe that is expensive for here!). We spent a night in "luxury" on travelling down through Peru as when we got to Puno to change bus the hostels were full so we successfully managed to negotiate a $56 room down to only $35, bargain, especially as it included a slap up breakfast!
We bumped into a couple of Irish lads that were on our disastrous colca canyon tour on the way down to Copacabana so we have spent the last couple of days with them. Not that there appears to be any nightlife here, so think we will be trying to find a film room tonight!
Today we were up bright and early for our trip to the Isla del Sol in the centre of Lake Titicaca. The boat was quite possibly the slowest boat in the world and it is a four hour round trip to the island. We made it there though and spent about 3 hours walking the length of the island which was actually really pretty.
Off to La Paz tomorrow to start of voluntary work for a couple of weeks for the Red Cross.
