Maybe not Gordon's last trip
Well now I know I am on holiday.......I have started to look in estate agents' windows as if to consider living here. "Cute cottage over one acre. Two bedrooms. No close neighbours yet with direct access to the main road. House features long verandahs, large carport and a double steel shed (??)" Cost less than 100,000 UK pounds.
And yesterday I nearly bought an overprinted singlet! I think the sun must be getting to me.
I did play golf in fairly strong heat yesterday as well, albeit riding in a golf trolley. Nice course but with greens like concrete. Lost two balls in one water hazard but as I had been warned in advance that "there is a croc in the pond on the 12th", I didn't search for long.
This morning, climbed the 525 steps to the local Viewpoint and read that I am at present 15,050 kilometres from London where I hear it may be 10 below in the next day or so.
Well as you turned up your central heating in the UK, I slipped into a pair of shorts, pulled on a T shirt (with sleeves) and sauntered down to the waterside cafe where I had a plate of freshly cut fruit, a mango smoothie and a long black (coffee) before wandering back to my accomodation for a dip in the pool, before getting ready for this afternoon's round of golf.
I may soon tire of this wasteful way of life and feel the need to return to the grind of travelling.
Final thought: Local press reporting the passing of Kerry Packer "Big fella checks out". You have to love the honesty.
