Glenn's Travels
Well, I'm back from my second liveaboard trip on the reef. It wasn't exactly the plan to do that when I was coming down here, but plans change, and that's the beauty of travelling on my own. I do what I want, when I want. And that was more diving. All in all, I got another 10 dives in the 3 days, including 2 night dives, a specialist navigation dive, 2 wreck dives on the S.S. Yongala, which was absolutely fantastic, and 5 day dives. The reefs were fantastic, even better than up in Cairns, but the highlight has to be the wreck. Amazing. Because the boat sunk in open water, there's nothing for miles and miles, no reef or anything. So that means that all marine life has congregated around the wreck. You have to see it to believe it. Huge fish, tiny fish, sharks, rays, turtles, everything! Undescribeable, really. That was this morning, and I'm now back on land - somewhat unfortunately. Anyway, tomorrow I'm heading down to Airlie beach for a bit of rest and relaxation (that's the plan anyway). And possibly to the Whitsundays. But who knows?!
