Glenn's Travels
Well, here I am. It's been a long time coming (years and years, in fact) but I've arrived in Australia. Actually, I arrived a week ago, but it's been an incredibly busy week and this is seriously the first time I've had a chance to sit down at the computer for a few minutes. Even now I have a million things to do, but we'll get to that. So, what have I been doing? Scuba diving. Yep, I've just completed a 5-day course with ProDive (top quality company) and I am now a certified open water diver, and just two dives away from being advanced. Not bad, eh? The week has been fantastic, ProDive took care of everything. I got picked up in the morning, taken to the classroom, did two days of theory and diving in the pool, and then we went on to the outer reef. The boat was fantastic, and I spent a full three days and two nights on it, fitting 8 dives into that - including a night dive and a deep dive. I could talk forever about the dives themselves, but I won't. I'll just say that the reef is fantastic, I was about a million fish, some sharks, turtles, stingrays, the whole lot. Paradise. So, as you can tell, I'm back on dry land now, although I'm still swaying about like you wouldn't believe. I have a few great pictures that I'm going to try to get up as soon as possible, but for the moment, that's it. I'm going out for a meal and a drink tonight with the people from the course and the boat, and then who knows? I might stay another night here tomorrow night, or I may move on. I have no idea whatsoever. It's bliss. Do what I want, when I want. And if I don't have a clue, I can simply do nothing at all. Can't beat it. So, I'm gonna go now, and have a very long hot shower and sleep for a while.
