We awoke this morning around 8:30 ish to get ready on the train for it arriving at 9 am. Then 9 am arrived and we had to wait longer as the train was slightly late, arriving at 12. We then got a coach to the hotel and quickly freshened up before heading to the bar across the road for lunch.
Then our tour leader Pooky, wanted to take us into the town and show us a popular tailor shop, but apparently as a tour leader she is not allowed to guide us anywhere so could not walk with us as she could get arrested. So we had to follow her blue minnie mouse umbrella a couple of metres behind. She directed us to a very good tailor selling lots of amazing stuff but a bit too expensive we thought. We then left the shop and went for a wander round some other shops. We went in a group with 4 girls including me, and Graeme and another guy. I did feel a bit sorry for the two boys as all us girls looked at dress after dress.
One of the girls with us wanted to get a silk dressing gown which was being sold at 450,000. She managed to haggle a bit and get the lady to sell it for 400,000. Graeme then saw a men's silk dressing gown (it reminded me of Rocky) which he was told was 950,000. He actually was not interested in it really but she asked him how much he would pay so he said 300,000 and walked away. But the lady ran after him offering him less and less, to which he kept replying too expensive. The poor lady continued to drop the price lower and lower until she got it down to 350,000 nearly a third of the price! She kept saying "Good deal for you, Good Luck for me" so we assume Graeme was a lucky number customer that she really needed as they are superstitious out here. Graeme decided for that price he might as well get it! So agreed to pay the 350,000 (about £10) for the 100% silk reversible dressing gown. So that's the way to haggle Graeme style.
We then went to a few other shops before going back to one of the first dress shops (poor boys) for me to get 2 silk dresses at a reasonable price. Me and Graeme both got our photo being measured by a tailor.
We then wandered back to the hotel where Graeme had a swim in the hotel pool on the roof (in the torrential rain might I add). We then went out for some food a bit of a walk away from the hotel, thinking the rain had stopped. But it started tipping it down for the walk back. So everyone on our tour decided to buy multicoloured poncho's from a little old lady for the walk back.
