It has been so much fun the last few days and today was no exception, I honestly think this has been the most fun day so far. Today was our free day, it started with our group walking down the hill from our chalet to the bus. But within the first 10 minutes of our day Allison and Kristal were already providing first-aid to me after I fell on both my knees and cut them open, but I'm okay!
We got to the bottom of the hill and got on the bus, it was about an hour to Kanderstag. After we got off the bus, we walked to a place called Oeschinensee which had a glacial lake and a summer toboggan run. We took a gondala ride up to the top in our smaller groups of four with our leader, our group had a stranger in it, Kristal tried to make conversation with her but she did not want to talk.
We all got off the gondalas and went to the tobbogan run, It was so much fun with all the turning, and it was great because you controlled how fast the tobbogan went, so if you were to scared to go fast then you could go slow. Some of us went twice or three times .
After we were finished with that we took a bit of a hike to the glacial lake. We ate our lunch and then got changed into our bathing suits. We found the perfect spot to go in the water. It was freezing, I polar bear dips are nothing compared to the water in that lake. But I was still the first one fully in the water when I walked waist deep and dived in. Everyone followed after and it was great. Most peoples idea when they go there is to get in, get under, and get out, but we aren't like most people and we went swimming. Not everyone went swimming, but most of us did.
When we were finished we cleaned up our things and hiked back to the gondalas. After everyone got off we walked to where the bus was supposed to meet us a couple of us walked across the street to get ice cream. A little bit later the Bergmann bus came to pick us up in two shorter busses rather than the long bus that we usually had and "What happens with the Bergmann, stays with the Bergmann!" (A quote by Lindsay)
We got back about 2 hours before dinner so we had time to just relax. Then for dinner we had bratwurst, mashed potatoes, peas and gravy. We also had watermelon for dessert. Now everyone has time to just relax and do what they want to do for the rest of the night including going to bed early.

Momma Cerqueira (AKA Joana's mom) Take care of your injuries Emily... glad to see you are OK! Your dinners sound delicious!!!!
Brad (Emily's dad) Well Emily, it wouldn't be an adventure if you didn't get some sort of cut or bump. I'm glad it didn't stop you from having fun and going swimming. It is great reading all of the blogs and comments, keep up the good work.
Carol ( Alli's mum) Thank you for an excellent outline of your day, Emily. I am sorry that you have sore knees however. I hope that is your only bit of bad luck for your trip. Alli, glad to know you packed your first aid kit! Your swim adventure sounded extraordinary!
Norine (Emily's mom) Oh Emily....Just like you. Great blog. Not shockingly, I think yours was the longest. I guess you write as much as you talk. Missing you. Hope you are having a great time. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home. Wishing you all a safe and injury free rest of the trip (and yes Emily that is specifically aimed at you!) Be daring but careful.
