Foz de Iguacu – Iguacu falls, the Brazilian side.
WoW.
That's it, end of entry.
Nah, I’m kidding, but it really is the only word that can describe such a place. WoW.
Some people say that you can fill the entire Kinneret with just 7 minutes of water flowing from the Iguacu waterfalls, other say a few hours. I don’t care – there’s just TOO MUCH WATER there!!!
The falls can be seen from two countries, therefore there are 2 parks (and 2 fees to enter…) – one on the Brazilian side, and the other one on the Argentinean side. We decided to see both sides as the views are different.
First we visited the Brazilian side (just a matter of convenience – we actually slept on the Argentinean side but the parks are very close to each other). The Brazilian side of the Iguacu falls gives you a spectacular panoramic view over most of the waterfalls (more than 100).
No matter how many photos and videos of it you saw at friends’ albums – you will be shocked. The view is spectacular and nothing can explain it better than just seeing it yourself. The roar of the waterfalls is heard from afar, and you can feel water spray from far far away… There’s a nice scenic route you can take along the river path with several miradors along the way, each one of them gives you a slightly different angle.
The park is surrounded with beautiful natural rainforest and there are lots of wild animals such as monkeys, tejones and birds roaming around freely. Other friendly creatures you can find there are butterflies. There are so many types of butterflies there and most of them are not afraid of people and actually will land on your shoulder for a photo…
At the end of the walking trail there’s a bridge built very close to a waterfall. As you cross it – it feels as if you’re actually inside a waterfall. Makes it all even more impressive (and wet!).
What an amazing day… so much water, so much nature! Tomorrow – the Argentinean side!
Hasta Manana…
Gilad.
