Getting lost while exploring
Used the remaining pancake mix and attempted to use all the maple syrup (thought about drinking the leftover syrup, but Sam wouldn't let me). Cleaned up our precious van, peeled off the Taranaki Hardcore sticker and returned it to Escape Campervans at Fisherman's Wharf. It was bitter-sweet as we had such a good time travelling around the States in that van, but after 5 weeks we were also a little bit excited to drop off those keys. We ended up driving 5425 miles (8731 kilometres) from Miami to San Francisco (not including the 1700 kilometres we drove in the car rental from Washington to Miami).
As soon as we dropped off the keys we bumped into Bush Man, but he was on a break. We waited around but then he relocated and we couldn't find him again. If you don't know who Bush Man is you can YouTube him and the videos are pretty funny.
We had our first In & Out Burger experience, which was our last (of many) burgers in the States. They were delicious!!!! But the fries were like cardboard.
Decided to get the vintage tram to the train and then to train to the airport and get the free Motel shuttle. The trams were packed and kept driving right past us, finally got one after close to half an hour.....could've walked quicker. Then we waited 15 minutes for the airport train, which was then majorly delayed due to a medical emergency at another station, but we weren't in a hurry to get to the "fancy" airport motel anyway.
Ordered a giant pizza and desserts for dinner, which we ate in bed. Tried to sleep, but was too excited about flying to Canada the next day.
