Hello
Sorry I was slack yesterday and didnt write...had a bit of a lazy one!
Its been so good to catch up with people from home. Just to talk to people about your life back home without havng to explain about your family, uni, friends etc etc...just picking up where we left off! So much easier.
Yesterday Jess, V and this American girl Ari from the hostel went to a flea market in Lisbon. We took the tourist tram number 28 up this giant hill behind this mosk and it was really nice to walk around. We the walked up to the Sao Jorge Castle but didnt go in because we were too stingy to pay 5 euro haha. Ari then went to a museum and we headed to Caiscais (the beach!), SOOOOO beautiful!!! It was so mediteranian and secluded with gorgeous blue and green water :)Last summer I didnt really get to go to the beach so I was so happy to finally be there after 6 months of horrible english weather! Then as it was Veronikas birthday at midnight we sneakily organised a little surprise for her. We planted people around the room to join in and sing happy birthday with us and i dahsed out and picked up half a dozen portuguese pastires. When she came back from her cig break we got the staff to dim the lights and turn off the music and Jess and I walked in with a lighter and got the whole hostel to sing happy birthday! She was pretty drunk by that time as we had gotten halfway through a bottle of polish vodka and she loved every minute of it! It was really good to see as I think she was starting to get a bit homesick. We then went outwith a big group fom the hostel to drink cocktails on the hot streets of lisbon and ended the night at a reggae club called Jamaica.
Today we had a lazy morning and went to Caiscais again...:) Drinking beer on a gorgeous portuugeuse beach with a picnic lunch, falling asleep in the sun...what could be better?
