Another day spent of the road, on our way to capital city Lima! Thankfully this was a luxury bus, and I´m pretty sure I got the best seat - upstairs and right at the front. What a good nights sleep! I hauled myself out of bed for a breakfast at the hostel then readied myself to be taken to some ruins - my first real taste of south american history pre the Spanish conquest. Our guide Maritza drove us to the ancient ruins of Chan Chan, about 10 mins drive out of Huanchaco. They are over 1000 years old, making them older than the Inca ruins. Not much to say for today. Over 13 hours, three buses and two taxis later we made it to Huanchaco, absolutely knackered and ready for bed. Will explore this interesting looking port town tomorrow!

Ahhhh waking up to the ocean was naaiice. It was Dawn's birthday so we had a nice breakfast and gave her a present. She's a true blue Aussie camp mother and a good b**** to match and we get along like a house on fire. I couldn't wait to get back in the water so we heading down for an early morning swim, along with about 50 surfers.
