Made it to Ecuador in one piece!
After having to listen to a 75 year old Australian woman called Beverley harp on about nothing for 7 hours on the flight from Santiago to Quito I couldn't have been happier to get the hell out of there. It was surprisingly easy to get a taxi, and a flat rate meant he couldn't pull a shifty on me and drive me around in circles. This didn't stop him, however, from going in excess of 100kmh in the middle of the city, literally running every red light there was and beeping at cars even though they weren't doing wrong! I was almost about to flick through the pages of my Spanish dictionary to find the phrase "please don't kill me I'm too young to die!"
Well I'm tucked up in bed now at the Cayman Hostel, it's lovely. Going to explore the old city if Quito tomorrow and from what I've seen (as a blur) from the taxi, Ecuador is a ripper of a country!
