Time to explore Ecuador! I met my tour guide Fabio this morning at breakfast, he's from Peru. He rocks up to the breakfast table with his own 'special' tea - coca tea! It was amazing to see him turn from a seemingly relaxed kinda guy to this wired pinger, I've gotta get me some of this stuff. Unfortunately I was given only English breakfast - hornimans tea. Everybody loves a cuppa horniman in the morning haha.
After breakfast we went to this tiny cafe and played fooseball on this wooden antique table that has got to be one of the first tables ever invented. And the coffee....god bless you Colombia.
Quito is almost 3000m above sea level, so even though i don't have altitude sickness, I'm incredibly breathless and tired after just walking around on the flat.
After a mid afternoon nap and a munch on some coca leaves, Fabio and I went to the old town of Quito, famous for wicked churches and good shopping. In the central plaza, I checked out the government house which had dozens of guards with big ass machine guns, because the president of Haiti is here at the moment. I was too scared to take a photo in case they wasted me.
Tomorrow will be more exploring of old Quito, to climb a church that looks alot like Notre dame but apparently feels like its about to collapse. Sweeeet.
