Naples is the home of the pasta and pizza.
First, I saw pompeii which is about 30 minutes by train outside of Naples. The town was ruined by a volcanic eruption in 79AD. The town that existed was destroyed and then uncovered by ash. It is HUGE! I cannot believe how big the place was. I thought there would be just a couple buildings but it was an entire town. The site is so big that I walked around around for like 2 or 3 hours and did not see all of it.
Then I met this incredibly cool group of Brits.....and we went out for dinner and bus dancing.....haha we kept doing random dances on the bus which made the Italians look at us.
Naples was the first place I saw an Anti-USA sign. On the broken down McDonald's was a sign in graffiti that said f*** USA. I could not believe it. This was the first time i had encountered blatant dislike for USA. I was shocked at first and then more concerned about my safety.
While in Naples we went and ate pizza at Sombelio (i believe). The pizza joint had been around since 1921 and Nick was in a pizza coma. He would not stop talking about how amazing that pizza was......it was hiliarious.
Next stop GREECE! It takes two overnight boat rides and one train/bus to get to Crete.
