Left Sydney at 6am to get get on the bus to Cresent Head Beach House, because 6am is a fun time. After packing as quick as possible after missing the alarm to wake up and only have 10 miniutes to get to the Wake Up Hostel, we ran - sort of, towards the coach until Dean realised he had left everything important, passport etc. at the hostel, so he ran back. Got to Wake Up just after 6 half expecting to have missed the coach and it turned out we were the first ones there, so waited for all the Germans to casually turn up.
Coach ride to Cresent head was cool, felt really touristy being in a massive coach specially a giant green one but watched some surfing films and a bit of School of Rock, also realised that most of the people on the coach were actually from Holland not Germany, after playing a few get to know people games - which didn't take too long as there was only around 15 of us. They all seemed dead cool, most were older in 20's but they were all dead chilled.
In my diary I drew a picture, not very well, of what Crescent Head looked like, pretty hard to describe what it was like on here and would take a while to upload and would have to save it to this internet cafe computer which I don't think anyone would appreciate; but i'll give it a go. It was basically a load of surfboards, guitars with 2 log cabins and a main bigger cabin to the side, oh and there were hammocks, so far favourite place in Aus.
When we got there we were presented with the rule (surf)board. This mainly included tips on trying to look cool and that getting drunk was a must, all the serious stuff. Everyone there was dead cool and laid back and Cresent Head was the best week i've had. Went surfing that arvo (Australian lingo for you there) gave a bunch of good tips explaining how s*** I was and that i needed to be a bit less awquard trying to get out - all helped and got the art of duck diving down to a tee by the end of the day, I say down to a tee I was slightly less s*** after a few hours.
After surfing I decided I needed a cap seeming as everyone else seemed to have one and it seemed like a smart idea, haggled with one of the surf instructors, got down from $30 to $20 and then realised I had no money. There wern't many cash machines in a place where you sleep in a log cabin so that plan didn't go too well. Cap-less I went to bed after chilling at the bush telly or camp fire. s*** load of insects and their loud as, but felt weird trying to sleep without the constant buzing after a while - miss it.
The next day; woke up, breakfast, surf. Can't say I can complain about the days at Crescent Head.
This morning there was a cameraman videoing and taking photos of us all falling... did get a few Shackas in so all was good - had to buy all of these unfortunatly and couldn't really afford them would of got damaged most probably or lost so bought some food. After surfing on the second day another group of people had turned up few from California and Canada to Spain, France, Germany etc. was awesome, played guitar for a bit around a bush telly, going to upload one of the vids from this bit later, after this it was time for some more surfing!
When we got back it was hammock time, chilling in a hammock felt awesome if there's anything i'm going to take back from from Aus it's a hammock. Surf instructor came round asking if anyone wanted a carton of piss, turned out to mean a crate, so got some beers. That night we went back to the camp fire spot, played guitar, went down to the beach, played guitar, found a massive frog in the sink, went to bed.
On the third day I was supposed to get up and surf at 5am but was pretty hungover... biggest regret of the trip so far, as when they got back they were all telling me about the sun rising and seeing dolphins, which would of been awesome. Next thing the Mojo coach turned up and I had to say goodbye to Crescent head. Metr an awesome group of people been dead lucky with everyone i've met so far.
