Our first day in Munich happened to be Easter Sunday so almost everything was shut. We walked through Marienplatz and ended up in the Hofbräuhaus beer hall. It had a really good atmosphere as there was a traditional bavarian band playing and everyone had huge steins of beer (still not a beer fan but determined to find one I like eventually!!) Due to the fact it started to snow we passed a few hours here just taking in the traditional German culture.
Easter Monday was still pretty dead in the city, with snow showers again, so although there wasn't a lot to do we still enjoyed ourselves. We met a really friendly Australian girl in our hostel dorm who we spent the day with walking around the city and visiting the Deutsches Museum.
On our last day in Munich it was very sunny so we decided to rent out some bikes and cycle to the English Garden. It really felt like an English park, although there was a river which ran through it which you could surf on! It looked freezing but good fun, we just watched the surfers from the bank. There was also a lovely place to sit by one of the lakes which had garden sofas and a fire pit, so we rested there before our cycle back - made a change from walking everywhere! After lunch it was time to head back to the hostel then catch the train to Nuremberg.
