I got delayed at heathrow cause of ice on the runway lol which is ironic cause i got off the plane to huge amounts of snow in vancouver lol

But all is well! I am staying in a hostel that used to be a brothel, I am sharing with another female student but as yet she hasnt arrived, last night a couple of other student girls stayed with me to keep me company and show me the ropes. We have an ensuite but only the loo works and there is one shower for 7 floors of people so its pretty basic but i am safe and really feel at peace. I am making friends with the roaches and mice! The room i am staying in was a 24/7 prayer room for a few years so its been worked on for me hehehe

The church leaders are amazing, but i have only spent a few hours with them as they are off now for 4 days on a salvation army enforced retreat so i am following the gap year students and generally hanging out for the next few days. Life will be random for the next few days until the guys are back, I am really looking forward to getting stuck in.

the need for jesus is apparent here and althought the same issues are underlying yet it is also very different from Bournemouth, as i type this its 8.30pm and from my window on the main high street i can see people openly dealing drugs and shooting up. Prostitution is also very very evident. its been that way consistantly for the 24 hrs i have been here, we heard the emergency services all night long...

Yet i have huge hope, today i met a woman, who lived in a slum hostel in pure chaos and she stood before me 6 months into a relationship with Jesus, sober and fired up to serve the kingdom. she is now living in one of the projects community apartments with 2 other christian women and serves in real practical ways helping the church leaders with admin, cleaning, preparing food etc whilst saving to go to bible college! Proof that all things are truly possible through Christ Jesus, amen!!!!!
