We went up to Grootsberg Lodge to see if there was anyone who could help us with our tyre situation. Rachael and I had tried to change it at the campsite but with no luck as we couldn't work out how to get the spare tyre down. The truck as a second fuel tank which blocked the view to the nut used to let the spare down from under the truck. Annoying!
The track up to the Lodge was definately only for 4x4. Rachael did really well and drove us successfully to the top. We were then met by two rather lovely young Afrikaners called Rohan and Branigon. Between them they managed the lodge and the campsite. Two very good reasons to go back to Grootsberg!
They worked wonders and managed to successed in the whole changing tyre thing! We then got a tour of the lodge and a cold drink (and some beer for later) At this point we couldn't think of any more reasons to stay so we had to go back to the campsite. We gave a lift to one of the lodge works and his son and had a very entertaining trip. He was amazingly well spoken and had a lot to say for himself. We both liked him.
Back at the campsite we decided that it was about time we should start drinking and swimming so the sparkling wine was openned which we drank most of lounging in the pool. We then played some backgammon and had chicken wraps for tea.
