Hola from San Sebastian - gorgeous beach town, gastronomical capital of Spain and our home for four fantastic days before heading to France.
First port of call on arrival in San Seb (as it's become affectionately known) was of course food. Met up with the Busabout crew for a pintxos crawl through the old new town. Having no idea what we were eating didn't deter anyone from gobbling many of the little pintxos, washed down with kalimotxos (red wine and coke), sangria and txhocolis (wine that they pour from up high so it gets air in it). Highlights of night: sangria and free shots, flashing rings and butterfly clips purchased from little Asian lady roaming club, breaking it down to waka waka, running home.
Spent the next four days sleeping in (once until 1pm eek!), swimming, lying on the beach, shopping, eating homecooked meals by yours truly - Team Kiwi and Lucy and Abby, and more pintxos, sangria and kalimotxos.
One day decided to get our surfer chick on and got a group lesson with the spunky Luke and his little Argentinian friend who tried to undo my bikini bottoms. Looking hot in our wetsuits in shades of baby blue or full length black in my case, we hit the beach with high hopes of being awesome....we were not. Especially when a group of kids under 10 came out and were way better than us! Gemma - "why can't we surf as good as them?" Aimee - "it's because we are whales...and they are anchovies" HAHA. Actually stood up quite a few times (yay) and spent lot of time paddling and looking cool, like on Blue Crush, out past the breakers.
