Easter Weekend
We've had a fabulous Easter weekend on the island with not much working but lots of cake making and biscuit making! Unfortunately the weather hasn't been amazing but we have managed a few walks around the island I have started. Y plant surveying and just. Making a general list of plants ive seen around the island, hopefully soon when the plants start flowering my Id skills will get better although I'm not doing to badly at the moment! Gemma is coming up to her last few days on the island and the rest of the Flatholm team arrive in Wednesday which is great because we're super low on supplies but I have mixed feelings as we have become a close volunteer team! Me and Sarah are looking forward to welcoming Jamie one of the other new vols, who was meant to be joining us tomorrow but due to the stupid weather and strong winds the boat isnt coming! The boat on Wednesday is a 7:30 lock which means rising early doors!
Yesterday which is Easter Sunday we found some slow worms under the corrugated metals panels that have been put down! There were three males underneath in total! :) they all moved very slow due to the cold weather!
We split our island bird survey up into two halves me and Sam went one way and gemma and sarah the other! Sam made is a scrummy lasagne for tea!
Sarah's impromptu buying of a guitar and a sewing machine have made us giggle, more that she's never sewn before!
Back to the grind tomorrow!!
