9/11 in NYC!
Today is the 13th anniversary of the tragic terrorist attack to the twin towers in NYC. :( however we decided to visit the memorial tomorrow, given that it would most likely be packed with people today.
We started the day early, went for breakfast at Clinton St Bakery as recommended by Luke. Absolutely incredible. We had an egg white omelette and pancakes with blueberries - awesome! Then we headed to Brooklin on the train, walked around the neighbourhood a little and crossed the bridge towards the city. The weather was great!
A few interesting pics on the way home and it was quickly time to go home and get ready - tonight is Ellie's hens party!! :D Paul left earlier to go to he wedding rehearsal and I stayed back working on some stuff for our wedding next week. :)
Ellie's hens started off at a bar close to the water, where we were a group of about 17 ladies, sharing two magnums of Perrier Jouet and Veuve! Good stuff. The we headed to the deck to jump on a 90min cruise through NY harbour. The city seems to look even more glamorous at night, seen from the water!
Then we headed to the Public, a restaurant in Little Italy. We had private room for ourselves, where we were served a delicious set menu. The meal options were listed on a personalised menu that read 'Congratulations to Mrs. Bronzed Aussie to be!' - too funny. That's how Ellie calls Luke - the Bronzed Aussie. :)
Paul had gone out with Luke and the boys for a few drinks and was home before me. I happily left the hens and got home to a locked door and a fast-asleep fiancé inside.... Knocking, knocking, banging, BANGING on the door, calling, texting, ringing the bell, ringing, ringing. Crying. Sitting on the floor. Knocking. Sigh. BANGING!! Crying. Finally (35min later..!), Paul opens up. 'I'm so sorry..!!'. Yep. Ok. Good night!
