Today's photo is from the lookout at 1770, a beautiful spot slowly being spoiled by development and greed.
Moved on from Agnes Water(s) as the locals call it. Again a beautiful place where greed and corruption has allowed former National Park to become gated beachfront enclaves for the rich.
Thanks Sir Joh.
Travelled via Miriam Vale, and Bororen to Benanaby seeking a park to catch up on showers and washing. Many listed parks have closed and been converted to single men's camps to cater for the influx of workers for mines etc, so finding a spot looked bleak.
Local enquiries however steered us towards this evenings stopover - Lake Awoonga. The lake is the water source for the city of Gladstone and its industry (aluminum smelting).
I was delighted to hear the lake is stocked with barramundi some now up to 1.5 m long!!!
Spent an hour or so flicking lures around the shore close by, but did not hold out much hope and had no success. Maybe tomorrow.
Looks great for cycling here with a pathway around the edge of the lake. If it goes all the way around it will be 30 - 40k. Will check it out tomorrow.

Wayne Ah Sir Joh, now there's an era in our history best forgotten still, he kept the "chooks" fed which seems to be what all pollies do these days. The ride sounds good. Rainning and cold here again today still it is the middle of winter. Good luck with the fishing!
