Mom and Marie delivered Dad and I to the Airport, we were early but meant they could both get home at reasonable hours. Said our farewells, like always a little sad but also buoyed by the journey we are embarking on.
Malaysian flight to KL uneventful, left on time, arrived on time and we both slept pretty well.
A couple of hours in KL lounge, nothing to report from there except the coffee was good and Dad was contemplating staying there for the two weeks and just making up this blog each day. Then onto the plane bound for London. We then sat on the tarmac for two hours while they repaired the plane, but did get away albeit late. Flight to London did seem long but with the two hour delay we were on the aircraft for nearly 16hours so probably understandable we were a bit over it by the time we arrived.
With only one ear between us we are leaving a trail of somewhat confused service staff behind us.
Breezed through UK immigration, bags off early and we're off to the tube station as I'd decided it was the best way in to Covent Garden. Might have been a mistake as it did take nearly an hour!
Arrived at the apartment, my first foray into AirBnB, and it is fabulous. Two good bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen.
We decided to go for a walk to Tesco to get bread etc and I the way home had the firs London ale of the trip. IPA for me (not made in India Dave) and Guiness for Bob. Just what the doctor ordered to get us to sleep.
