Today we visited Mount Isa underground hospital. It was built in 1942 during the war in case it was needed if Mount Isa was bombed. We then went for a walk up to the lookout over the town. After we ate our sandwiches, we went on an underground mine tour. We put on special overalls, a hard hat with light and boots. We traveled 10m down an elevator and learnt about all the equipment used from many years ago. The guide let us use the drill to drill a hole in the wall and he also drove his big mining truck around for us to see. Mining in the old days would have been very hard. Everyone really enjoyed the tour. We had spaghetti with our cousins for dinner and played spotlight.
