So after a gruelling sleeper train from Nha Trang, we arrived in Hoi An this morning. Also by the coast, this is an amazing little city - sort of a mix between european colonial style houses with also japanese influence. Really beautiful.
The sleeper train to get here last night was not so nice as the first one - the rooms were foul, food under the bed, we even had to kick out an old vietnamese woman who had decided to take over our carriage! And of course, we were woken up at 4AM by a rooster in the next carriage from ours. Only in Vietnam. It was pretty horrible, you felt like you had to disinfect your hands everytime you touched something, but at the same time it definitely was an experience!
Right now we are in an amazing hotel, I definitely could get used to this type of backpacking! This morning after a much needed nap we explored the fish market a bit and the streets of Hoi An.
Only a week left in Vietnam and the group! Time has gone by so quickly, and we've done so much in the past 3 or so weeks, its crazy to think that we only have 2ish weeks left in Asia. We are trying to sort out the bus ride from the end of our tour in Hanoi to get into Laos- its been reported online by some people as the worst experience ever, so it should be fun! J

Christine Le futur trajet en bus jusqu'au Laos sera-t-il pire que votre dernier voyage en train??? Bravo pour les photos de Cambodge et Vietnam ; vous mangez toujours des choses aussi intéressantes que la tarentule? Profitez-bien, bises !
Morgane Hi Gaëlle !! I've been reading all your entries and I'm always so excited to see a new one. I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying yourself. It sounds really great ! I also loved the pictures ! :D Continue d'écrire autant que tu peux, c'est génial ! Bises !!
Olivier Great stuff! I guess that kicking out old vietnamese women from a train carriage is not politically correct, but c'est la vie... Your blog is brilliant: on à l'impression d'y etre!
