Last full day in New Zealand! It's a bit sad to be leaving such an amazing country, but the cold and the rain is starting to get a bit annoying so I shall be looking forward to the sun and beaches of Fiji!
After Queenstown, we headed over to Dunedin on the east coast and decided to spend the afternoon on a little tour of their Cadbury Factory! A few free samples (not nearly as many as you get during weekdays - unfortunately we were there on a Sunday when the factory itself is closed), free liquid chocolate tasting, and a wide selection of chocolate at the gift shop - so all in all, a pretty good afternoon! We didn't stay long in Dunedin though, we headed over to our next stop the following morning - Lake Tekapo. Since Queenstown, it started getting very cold - and by the time we got to the outskirts of Lake Tekapo, there was snow on the ground! A very beautiful place in the middle of nowhere - its a tiny tiny village by a beautiful pale blue lake, surrounded by snowy mountains. Basically, the ideal image you could have of New Zealand! That afternoon, Hannah and I braved the outdoors ice-skating rink by the lake - and we were the only ones, which was rather odd. Good fun though!
We left the cold the next morning and headed north to Christchurch, the third biggest city in New Zealand and our final stop :-( This morning we've been doing the usual pre-flying packing and posting things home. Might try to find a cinema this afternoon in order to get away from the dreary rain. Looking forward to the sun tomorrow!!
