What a fabulous morning as we made our way up the mountain in a series of cable cars to Mt Pilatus. Yes it was cold, but breathtaking. It had snowed about 30 hours ago so the snow was soft and fluffy and light, not like the ice we call snow in Australia. We travelled north, pass Milan via the picturesque Italian Lakes and over the border to Switzerland. On the Gothard highway we went through the longest tunnel in the world 17km (11miles), and shortly afterwards arrived in Lucerne (Luzern). There is snow everywhere, on the mountains, the ground and roof tops. We then cruised along the tranquil Lake Lucerne, enjoying the picturesque views and admiring the beauty of this amazing city.
