Hello again!
After some days on the Great Barrier Reef outside Cairns, we caught a northenly wind, so we went south to the Withsundays stopping in a small town called Bowen to resupply. Now we're in Airlie Beach, which is the main point of entry to the Whitsunday Islands for backpackers and other tourists.
The sailing so far has been very nice, and the snorkelling on GBR was awesome where we saw manta rays, sting rays,blue-spotted rays, turtles and much more.
The scenery in the Withsundays so far was a very norwegian-like fjord, or inlet, on Hook island and cockatue-feeding on the deck of the boat.We had a hike on Hook island and saw some abbo cave-paintings, althoug they were less impressing. The nature and scenery was astounding, though, asa it ranged from traditional dry aussie bush, to luch rainforests.
We're hoping on sailing a bit more of the Whitsundays, but it seems that the northernly winds are returning after some days with the normal south-westernleys. Therefore it looks like we're forced to head south again soon.
But first;I well-deserved night out on the hefty party-town of Airlie Beach tonight!
Pictures will follow...hehe.
