Ok so I know that we have been very very crap at updating this journal....so now we are playing catch up. Not much has been happening here in London to be honest. We were visited by lots of our friends....first Erin and Paul in May (fun out with Nick at Manor House) then Sarah and Luke at the end of June - saw we will rock you and some london rats :( and lastly dear Sashy who we went and did the touristy thing with. Saw the London eye (waited until we were in the damn queue and ticket paid for before deciding to piss with rain.) However it was fun all the same. Loved seeing everyone over here....come back :D miss you all.
Other than that we have mainly been working...and going to pubs with our new england friends. Ben and Nick have re-found their love of the x-box and I have found a love of the cheap cheap drink over here called a snakebite. So classless but awesome!
We decided to hire a car a couple of months ago and we drove west to Cardiff in Wales for a night. Driving was sooooo much fun...even though the roads are hard to navigate on. Luckily ben did the driving around London...i would have panicked. Omg but once we found our way onto the motorway we were ok. Ben loved driving nice and complained the whole way home that i was driving at australian speed limits.
Cardiff was really nice when we got there...we just had a look around the main part of town and went to some pubs. Started off at the prince of wales (cos we were actually in wales :D) and ended up at the Walkabout Aussie bar. Haha oh they are everywhere. Visited the Hard Rock of Cardiff and went to a casino to add to my collection of free casino membership cards. Found a funny little quirky hotel (managed to get a disabled room as everything was really low and weird shaped) and spent the next morning looking around. We saw the millenium stadium (its really nice looking and so cool cos its right on the main street of cardiff.) Then we drove to Bristol and had a look around the city. Did some shopping in one of the markets, saw the Catherdral and university main area....really nice city. Ben enjoyed looking around where his dad was born...we both thought that it was a really nice city. Funny accents though haha. Then we moved on to Bath....what a pretty place. It was like so olden day and AWESOME. Totally did feel like i belonged in Pride and Prejudice in that town. Again we saw the cathedral and the roman baths....cool street performers out the front. After relaxing there for a bit....we took for the road trip home. I got to drive YAY....and then ben took over again for London. Short couple of days....but saw some pretty cool places. Would love to hire a car again because we both miss driving soooo much. My little echo had better be waiting for me when i return.......
